Marisol joined the Public Defender’s Office as the mental health case manager in 2018. She assists the Public Defenders in providing a holistic approach to defense work with pre-conviction supportive services and post-conviction reentry support. Marisol has worked with special populations for over twenty years and is a licensed substance abuse counselor. Marisol firmly believes that defendants who get treatment and successfully navigate the social services system have a better chance of remaining stable and staying out of the criminal justice system. She is a graduate of University of Texas in Edinburg, Texas.
