1. Provide for additional time for court members to educate themselves more in-depth about agenda items

• Adjust timeframe for agenda process by moving the deadline for regular session agenda item submission to 10 business days before the posting date of the upcoming meeting.
  • This allows for review and research, if necessary, and facilitates for a meaningful discussion and appropriate action later during the meeting.
  • All court members would receive the regular session draft agenda within eight (8) days before posting in order to allow time for preparation

2. Add planning security and transparency for upcoming agenda items

• Offices/Departments to forecast timeline of items being brought to Commissioners Court for approval, such as MOUs, Agreements (new and renewals), etc. in order to timely add items to the Regular Session agenda.

3. Improve efficiencies through workflow management solution

• Maximize technology and software to streamline the process.

4. Use “Work Sessions” for detailed project and other business updates

• Confirm meeting dates for recurring Work Session meetings in order for staff to provide to Commissioners Court detailed updates and presentations regarding projects and other County business, to include but not limited to:
  • Criminal Justice updates/Jail Population Reports; 
  • Bexar County Information Technology updates; 
  • Budget Quarterly Estimates; 
  • ARPA updates; 
  • Infrastructure updates and forecast; 
  • Preventive Health updates
