Community Partners and Stakeholders,

As we continue to help our Texas neighbors, the mental health need continues to grow.  Our local mental health authority, the Center for Health Care Services, has been providing crisis counseling and referrals at the shelters.

As we continue to receive more evacuees and another shelter has opened, the need for counselors is growing.  We are in need of LPC’s, LMSW’s, LCSW’s, LPC-Interns, currently in a counseling master’s program, or had crisis counseling.

Currently there are three shelters open:
1734 Centennial – 350 capacity (full)
1520 Gillette Blvd. – 750 capacity (full)
5003 Stout – 2800 capacity (86 as of this morning) more expected to arrive throughout the week

The shifts are:
12pm-8am
8am-4pm
4pm-12pm

If you or your agency is able to provide counselors, please contact David Pan at 210-240-1404, text or call.

Thank you,
Bexar County Department of Behavioral and Mental Health
