The Bexar County Economic and Community Development Department is pleased to announce the availability of funding for community development projects through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) programs.
The CDBG program provides funding for projects that benefit low- and moderate-income individuals and families, eliminate slum and blight conditions, and address urgent community needs. Eligible projects include housing rehabilitation, economic development, public facilities, and public infrastructure improvements.
The HOME program provides funding for the development, acquisition, and rehabilitation of affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families. Eligible projects include the construction of new affordable housing units, rehabilitation of existing homes, and the acquisition of land for affordable housing development.
The ESG program provides funding to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness regain housing stability. Eligible projects include emergency shelter construction, rental assistance, and homeless prevention programs. Eligible projects include Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) administration, street outreach activities, emergency shelter operations, short-term rental assistance for those at-risk of homelessness, case management, and other supportive services.
