This week, Bexar County Grand Juries handed down nearly 280 felony indictments.
Priscilla Caballero is charged with murder. The indictment alleges that on Jan. 5, 2021, Caballero intentionally and knowingly caused the death of Yvette Salinas by shooting Salinas with a deadly weapon (firearm). This case is being prosecuted by the Family Violence Division in the 290th District Court. Murder is a first degree felony punishable by 5 to 99 years or life in prison, with a possible fine of up to $10,000.
Rafael Castillo is charged with murder. The indictment alleges that on Nov. 19, 2020, Castillo intentionally and knowingly caused the death of Nicole Perry by striking her with an axe and dismembering her hands with a bladed instrument. This case is being prosecuted by the Family Violence Division in the 290th District Court. Murder is a first degree felony punishable by 5 to 99 years or life in prison, with a possible fine of up to $10,000.
An indictment is not a finding of guilt. A person charged by indictment is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by a jury or a judge. Because these cases are pending, we can make no further comment on them.
