On Friday,  Aug. 28, 2020, Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales issued the following statement on the arrest of Mathais Ometu:

Mr. Ometu was arrested and charged on Aug. 25, 2020, by the San Antonio Police Department with two different counts of assault on a peace officer arising out of the same incident. He has posted bond on those charges.
