DA Gonzales on Voter Intimidation

District Attorney Joe Gonzales submitted a request to the Texas Attorney General on Wednesday in order to understand the scope of his authority to ensure that neither private actors nor government officials infringe on Texans’ right to choose their leaders in secure, accessible, fair elections.

However, The Bexar County District Attorney’s Office is a prosecuting agency and not an investigative agency; thus, if any voter believes someone is interfering with his or her ability to exercise the right to vote, that person should report it to law enforcement to investigate fully and then send to our office for review and possible prosecution.
