Join the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr 36th Annual Commemorative March on January 16, and attend related events from January 13 - January 19.
The 36th Martin Luther King, Jr. March and Celebration will take place in person on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
The 2023 celebration will begin with the in-person march kickoff at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy, followed by the park celebration at Pittman-Sullivan Park. The park celebration will include a main stage with multicultural performances, a health and wellness area, a youth area, food and merchandise vendors, and information booths.

About the March
Starting Point:
Martin Luther King Jr. Academy, 3501 Martin Luther King Dr, San Antonio, TX, 78203
Ending Point:
Pittman-Sullivan Park, 1101 Iowa St, San Antonio, TX 78203
To maintain the spirit of the March and for the safety of participants, motorcycles, cars and other motor vehicles are not allowed in the March procession.
Bus Service
To the March:
Passengers may access bus free service to the march from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Monday, January 16, at two locations:
- Freeman Coliseum, 3201 E. Houston St. (Lot 1)
- St. Philip’s College, 1801 Martin Luther King Dr. (Lot 22). Lot 22 is at Montana and Mittman streets.
The drop-off point for service to the March will be on MLK Drive, west of Upland Drive.
Return Service:
Buses will return passengers to the original pick-up locations from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Participants may access return service at Pittman-Sullivan Park, 1101 Iowa St.
