NAMISmarts for Advocacy

This hands-on training program helps transform peoples' passion for mental health into skillful grassroots advocacy.

Peer-Led Groups and Classes

  • Family-to-Family: 8- class program to teach you how to help your loved ones.
  • Peer-to-Peer: 8- class program to help you individually better understand yourself and your mental health recovery.
  • NAMI Basics: 6-class program that works with you to provide care to those children and teens (up to 22 years old) you love the most.
  • Homefront: 6-class program designated exclusively to our service men and women.

Support Groups

  • NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups: Are you an adult looking for peer-led support? Our confidential Connection groups can help you gain insight by hearing from others with lived experience, their challenges, and successes.
  • Family Support Groups: Do you need more support in caring for your loved one? Our confidential Family Support Groups can help you discover your inner strength and empower yourself by sharing in a nonjudgmental space.

Bridges to Care San Antonio (BTCSA) builds connections between congregations, organizations, and service providers. BTCSA trains people to be companions with one another for mental and behavioral health, brings hope and compassion to our city through cohorts of congregations in each district, and makes known the resources available to all for continued wellness.

BTCSA offers six core training modules:

  • Trauma-Informed Care
  • Family & Friends/ In Our Own Voice
  • Building a Mental Health Program
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Mental Health Resources
