John Agather is an accomplished entrepreneur with a long history of varied business interests and civic involvement. He began his career in San Antonio, Texas as the Chief Operating Officer of an industrial cooling tower parts company with an exclusive client base in Mexico. He then formed his own investment company that has been involved with a variety of industries that have included the hospitality industry, oil and gas, commercial real estate, and most recently the music industry. An accomplished singer/songwriter, he formed his own band The Juantanamos which tours regularly.
John Agather has been a strong advocate for stronger economic ties between the United States and Mexico. An early and very active participant in the negotiations for NAFTA, John became the founding Chairman of Free Trade Alliance San Antonio. A longtime pilot and former Chairman of the San Antonio Airport Advisory Committee, he has just recently retired as Chairman of the Board of the Reno Air Racing Association that hosts the National Championship Air Races.
John Agather was born and raised in Mexico and holds a B.A. from Southern Methodist University.
