What is the County Doing?
Bexar County Commissioners Court is acting to “Drive generational transformation through the development and execution of strategic programs to create a more equitable and resilient future for Bexar County and its constituents to impact change”.
The County Commissioners have adopted the values of Recovery, Resiliency, Equity, and Economic Mobility. The Commissioners have also established a framework of priority areas based on the following Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) areas:
- Economic Stability
- Health Care Access & Quality
- Social & Community Context
- Education Access & Quality
- Neighborhood & Built Environment
- Justice System

These Priority Areas are based on the Social Determinants of Health in order to promote attaining the full potential for health and well-being for all. Social Determinants of Health are conditions in the places where people live, learn, work, and play that affect a wide range of health and quality-of life-risks and outcomes.
