American Rescue Plan Act Spending for Bexar County
What is ARPA
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government created the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund to address its economic fallout and lay the foundation for a strong and equitable recovery. The County received half of the funds and will receive the remaining funds in June 2022. Funds must be spent by 2026. Bexar County received $389 million dollars to use for:
COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Response, or its negative economic impacts, including assistance to households, small business, & non-profits, or aid to impacted industries
Responding to workers performing essential work during COVID-19 with premium pay to eligible workers
For the provision of government services to the extent of the reduction in revenue
Necessary investments in "water, sewer, and broadband"
What is the County Doing?
