The AGC/Bexar County "Basics" of Construction Training Program is designed to assist small business contractors in understanding the basic elements of running a commercial construction business.
Presented by AGC San Antonio Chapter and Bexar County, the Basics program is a ten-session educational program designed to assist small, minority, and women-owned construction businesses. The sessions included elements of running a successful construction business, project scheduling, financial management and understanding contracts. Liens, estimating, project management, safety, business development, insurance and bonds were other important topics that were covered.
The material of the focuses on both technical and administrative skills, with a special emphasis on how to do business with Bexar County. It is a ten week class that is designed to be informative, educational, and above all, provide an opportunity to interact with industry peers.
"The Basics" Program 2018
Registration for the 2018 "Basics" of Construction Program is now open! Sessions will be held Tuesdays from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Associated General Contractors Office located at 10806 Gulfdale.
There is a registration fee of $175 required with full reimbursement if participant attends 8 out of 10 sessions.
Please note: Business certification or designation as a Small, Minority, or Woman-Owned Business, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) or SBA 8(a) is required for participation in this course. Pending certifications may be considered.
