Unidentified Persons

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office is committed to obtaining the positive identification for all deaths investigated by our office as well as finding and notifying the next of kin of the death. In order to accomplish this, we utilize every available scientific means, including fingerprints, DNA, dental/ medical records and/ or visual identification. Unfortunately, however, after exhausting all sources, in some cases we are still unable to obtain an identification.

The following cases are those in which the BCMEO has been unable to identify the deceased. If postmortem renderings are available, they are posted along with the decedent's descriptive information. If you have any information relating to any of the unidentified people listed, please contact the BCMEO Investigations Office at (210) 335-4011. Investigators are available by telephone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In addition to this page, the BCMEO inputs case information into the National Missing Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), a searchable database created to assist in identifying unidentified human remains. The database includes cases throughout the United States and is viewable by the public (https://www.namus.gov).

To report a missing person, please contact your local law enforcement agency.
