Karnes County

Karnes County started out as the nucleus for ranching activity between San Antonio de Béxar and La Bahía (present-day Goliad). The former San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway passed through the county in its connection between San Antonio and Corpus Christi. 

As of the 2014 Census, Karnes County had a population of 14,906 people. Karnes City, the county's seat, has a population of 3,183 and is slightly smaller than the County's largest city, Kenedy, at 3,285.
