Public Record Searches

The County Clerk's Office manages the Official Records Search, a free online database where documents can be searched and viewed online, and uncertified copies may be printed directly.

The Official Records Search contains the following documents:
  • Assumed Names
  • Commissioners Court
  • Foreclosures
  • Land Records
  • Marks and Brands
  • Marriage
  • Miscellaneous
  • Personal Property
  • Plats
  • Public Notice
  • Spanish Archives

The County Clerk also offers a variety of other online searches, such as the Foreclosures map, Unclaimed Funds Search, Misdemeanor Records Search, and the DWI/Family Violence Fugitive Search.

Using the Official Public Records Search

The County Clerk's Official Public Records Search hosts a variety of records to be searched. Select the desired documents from the "Change department" dropdown next to the search bar, enter the search terms desired, and then set a start date and an end date for a period of time to search. Multiple searches can be run at the same time by simply opening a new search tab in the top left corner.

Open Records Request

If the type of record you are looking for is not available through one of the searches and is and open record, please check the Bexar County Public Information Act Request Center. This open records portal allows requestors to submit a request online and check on the status of the request. Users may create an account, which is needed to track and receive information related to the request. Additionally, the public can access past requests and may find that the information they are seeking is already available.
