Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)

The Bexar County CSCD Applewhite Recovery Center (ARC) is the location of the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility (SATF), the Mentally Impaired Offender Facility (MIOF) and the Intermediate Sanction Facility (ISF) residential programs.

The ARC maintains a Zero Tolerance policy in regards to all forms of sexual abuse and/or sexual harassment between the residents and between the staff and resident(s). The ARC takes all allegations seriously and will investigate all reported alleged incidents.

How to Report Sexual Abuse at the ARC

Residents are encouraged to report all allegations of sexual abuse and/or sexual harassment immediately by:

Completing a grievance and placing it in one of the secure dedicated locked boxes.

Speaking or submitting any type of letter or note to the PREA Coordinator, any security staff member, residential supervision officer, counselor and/or a medical staff member.

As per PREA standards, we do accept third-party reporting.  If you have any information regarding a resident who has been sexually abused while at the ARC please call 210-631-0303 or mail a letter/note to:
