In his fourth year at Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Relations his duties include legal affairs, economic development, personnel relations, risk management, and government relations. Prior to joining SS&E Perez was a shareholder at Shelton & Valadez P.C. since 1995 handling complex litigation, government relations, public finance and has represented public and private entities in front of state and local government. He was a former Bexar County Prosecutor and San Antonio City Council Member has been a visible figure in public issues including economic development matters, public finance, and corporate risk management on behalf of numerous clients during his 20+ year legal career. Perez has served as legal counsel to bond transactions, transportation matters, and multiple public infrastructure matters during his career. Additionally, he has been involved in the development of transportation-related ordinances, statutes, and policies as a San Antonio City Councilmember and as representative for Bexar County public agencies. He has appeared in front of local and state policymakers on various mobility issues during his career. Perez also served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of San Antonio City Council Committees, Elected to Board of Directors of San Antonio Bar Association, Elected as Region IV President of Hispanic National Bar Association, General Counsel for San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, named as "Outstanding Young Lawyer" by San Antonio Bar Association, selected as San Antonio Business Journal "40 under 40" rising leaders and recognized as "top Government Affairs Lawyer" by S.A. Scene Magazine. Perez holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor degree from St. Mary's University School of Law. He and his wife, Julie, are the parents of Christopher, Brianna, and Nicholas.
