Notice of Funding Availability

Bexar County Development Services Division invites interested eligible Federally Registered Non-Profits 501(c)(3) and Governmental Entities to submit applications for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership, and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Programs funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

A grant funding year runs October 1 through September 30. The funding allocation cycle for an upcoming funding year usually begins in January. Formal Notice of the Availability of Funds is published in the San Antonio Express Newspaper in the legal notice section of the paper and posted on our website for public review.

The application contains information for potential applicants on the federal and local guidelines for all programs. All funded projects must comply with strict eligibility criteria. Prior to submitting an application, please carefully review the information to determine if your request for funds will qualify under the federal regulations. While Bexar County staff is available to provide technical assistance, answer questions regarding regulations, eligibility and County process but it is the responsibility of the applicant to become educated on the federal regulations that govern the CDBG, HOME and ESG programs. Bexar County will hold Public Hearings for the purpose of receiving public input and identifying housing and community development needs for funding under CDBG, HOME, and ESG.
