In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”), the County of Bexar does not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, activities and facilities or employment. The Technical Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities serves as a link between citizens with disabilities and Bexar County. The committee provides assistance to offices and departments to ensure equal accessibility to opportunities in employment, facilities, services, and programs. The committee shall make recommendations to Commissioners Court on issues concerning employment policies and practices, provision of services and programs, and access to facilities.

Additionally, the committee shall provide educational services designed to inform and sensitize County employees to the various accessibility problems faced by persons with disabilities.
