Medical Examiner's Office
This search is for records of all death cases reported to, examined by or certified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office during the selected time frame (within the last 30 days).
To request a copy of records, mail your request along with a check or money order. It usually takes 8 - 12 weeks to complete a report. Be sure to include the deceased's name, date of death, and return address on your request.
This office can only issue cremation permits on cases where the death occurred in Bexar County. This permit is required by law for all cremations.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office serves several surrounding counties that currently do not have a Medical Examiner's Office.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office Fee Schedule is set by Commissioners Court. Any revisions must be approved by Commissioners Court before they can be implemented.
Forms available include cremation permits and authorization release forms as well as autopsy reports and public information request form.
