Parking
The Parking Section is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective parking of public and private vehicles for Bexar County owned facilities.
DUTIES
The Parking Section produces access cards for contract customers, reserved space users, and special community events. The section provides oversight of revenue control and access management for parking garages and parking lots at:
- ADC South Annex
- Courthouse Annex Building
- Fire Marshal building
- Justice Center
- Juvenile Detention Centers and other associated parking lots as assigned
- Paul Elizondo Tower
- Precinct 1 Office
- Vista Verde Building
First Parking Garage
The county opened its first five-story, 669 parking space garage in June 1988 as part of the Justice Center development downtown. An addition to the existing parking garage opened in August 2011. The new parking garage addition consists of 543 parking spaces and 17,843 square feet of office space to be utilized by Human Resources and downtown maintenance operations.
Comal Parking Garage
In 2012 the new Comal Street Parking Garage opened consisting of 963 parking spaces and office space at the first level for the Sheriff’s Office. An additional 233 parking spaces located at the new Adult Detention Center, South Annex Facility were added to the Parking portfolio in FY 2012 – 2013. Bexar County provides vehicular parking at different county facilities. Two of the parking facilities support those functions occurring in the two major downtown campuses: the Judicial complex and the Adult Detention Center. The county averages about 200,000 persons annually using county parking facilities consisting of Bexar County employees, citizens, attorneys, and visitors. The county owns and operates two parking garages and provides surface public parking lots adjacent to some of the county buildings.
The total parking managed under the parking portfolio is close to 3,500 parking spaces and it includes eight parking spaces with electric vehicle charging stations.

The Parking Section strives to provide the best customer service, while maintaining environmentally friendly and economically responsible policies while providing parking at no cost or reasonable market rates.
The following amenities are provided to customers:
- ADA accessible parking spaces and accessible routes to all county facilities
- Electric Vehicle Power Stations at the Vista Verde Plaza Building and the Juvenile Detention Center campus
- Bike Share Stations
- Special parking rates for citizens that are completing their Jury Duty commitments
- Parking facilities are within easy access to VIA bus lines

South Flores Street Parking Garage
Located at 211 S. Flores St, the garage provides parking for jurors, constituents conducting business downtown, county employees and elected officials, and also contains Human Resources/Civil Service; Small, Minority & Women-owned Business Enterprise Program; and Maintenance department on the first floor. The garage serves the Bexar County Courthouse, Cadena-Reeves Justice Center, Paul Elizondo Tower, Bexar County Annex, Fire Marshall, and JP-1 offices.

Comal Street Parking Garage
The Comal Street Garage is located at 127 N. Comal St. and provides covered parking for the Adult Detention Center complex and Adult Probation Building, visitors as well as employees.

Adult Detention South Annex Parking Lot
Located at 222 S. Comal Street, this parking surface lot supports Adult Detention South Annex and Drug Court.

Vista Verde Plaza Parking Lot
Located at 233 N. Pecos la Trinidad Street, the Vista Verde Plaza Building parking lot provides 226 surface parking spaces with 13 handicap and van accessible spaces. Bexar County also has incorporated 4 electric vehicle charging spaces at this facility.

Mission Road Campus Parking Lot
Bexar County Juvenile Probation and Detention Center Campus, located at 600 Mission Road, provides surface parking for employees and visitors. Bexar County also has incorporated 4 electric vehicle charging spaces at this campus.

Krier Juvenile Treatment Center Parking Lot
This parking surface lot supports the Cyndi Taylor Krier Juvenile Correctional Treatment Center.
Other County facilities offer surface parking at no charge to visitors:
- Juvenile Justice Academy located at 1402 N. Hackberry Street
- Precinct 1 Satellite Office located at 3505 Pleasanton Road
- This location houses Tax Collector-Assessor's Office, Constable Precinct 1, Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, and Bibliotech South
