Certification retains the SMWBE program integrity and optimizes SMWBE participation in Bexar County contracting through an evaluation process. Bexar County may rely on the certification credentials granted by the SCTRCA, or other agencies approved by Bexar County Commissioners Court to identify eligible Small, Minority and/or Woman owned Businesses for contracting and purchasing activities.
The SMWBE Program Office monitors the services provided by the SCTRCA and other agencies and makes quarterly reports to the SMWBE Advisory Committee. Any vendor SMWBE certification recognized by Bexar County and provided by the SCTRCA or any other agency will be based on the certification credentials contemplated in Bexar County Administrative Policy 8.0. Each certifying entity is committed to ensuring that only firms meeting the eligibility criteria to participate in contracting and procurement as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Disabled Individual Business Enterprise (DIBE), Veteran Business Enterprise (VBE) and Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) are certified in accordance to their specific Standards. |
