Chief Deputy Manuel Longoria has been re-appointed to his current position by Bexar County Sheriff, Susan Pamerleau. As Chief Deputy, Longoria is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. He has been in law enforcement for 44 years and serving in this position since December of 2009. The Chief Deputy has oversight of law enforcement and the Bexar County Detention Center, and reports directly to the Sheriff. more

Judicial Services & Court Security
Deputy Chief Tammy Burr is the director for both Court Security and Judicial Services. In this position Burr is responsible for security of the judges, staff, jurors, and the public in the courthouse. Additionally, she oversees the safe and secure transportation of prisoners to and from detention facilities to the court, as well as the serving of criminal warrants, the civil process, and extradition transport. more

Michael Dickey is the Director of Training for the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. He is responsible for the effective and efficient training and education for all Sheriff's office employees and the development and promulgation of policies and procedures to support all areas of the Sheriff's Office. His duties include regular quality assurance reviews to ensure training, policies and procedures are both effective and followed. more

Patrol & Special Operations
Joe Hamilton is the Deputy Chief of Patrol and Special Operations for the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. In this role, he manages the law enforcement services in the unincorporated areas of Bexar County and in some municipalities. The Patrol division responds to citizens' requests for service and enforcing criminal and traffic law. Hamilton reports directly to Chief Deputy Longoria. more

Criminal Investigation Unit
George Saidler is the Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigations Division for the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. He is responsible for the supervision of homicide, violent crimes, property crimes, and plain-clothes units. These units are responsible for the investigation and preparation of cases filed with the District Attorney's Office for prosecution. more

Interim Jail Administrator
Deputy Chief Mark Thomas is the interim Jail Administrator at the Bexar County Detention Center. He is serving in this position while a national search for a professional jail administrator takes place. Thomas manages jail operations including the supervision of approximately 900 staff and more than 3,700 inmates. more

Ottis Hutchinson is the Chief Financial Officer for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. In this role, he is responsible for administering fiscal and financial functions for the office, including the development and monitoring of the BCSO $105 million annual budget. His responsibilities also include Technical Services & the Communications Center; and Grants & Community Initiatives. more

Debra Nicholas is the Chief Administrative Officer for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. In this role, she is responsible for the administrative functions in the Sheriff’s Office including the Human Resources Division as well as handling special management projects. more

Paul Berry is the Chief Communications Officer and Public Information Officer (PIO) for the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring open lines of communication between the Sheriff's Office and the public. His responsibilities also include internal communication for the more than 1,700 employees in the Sheriff's Office. As PIO, Berry serves as the primary contact for all media inquiries, serving as a spokesman for the office. more
