Director Michael DickeyMichael Dickey is the Director of Training for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. He is responsible for the effective and efficient training and education for all Sheriff’s office employees and the development and promulgation of policies and procedures to support all areas of the Sheriff’s Office. His duties include regular quality assurance reviews to ensure training, policies and procedures are both effective and followed. He reports to Chief Deputy Longoria.

A highly experienced law enforcement and security professional, Dickey served in the United States Air Force where he led both security police and training units. He served as an enlisted instructor of security and SWAT courses, and as director of operations for the United States Air Force Security Police Academy. After retiring from the military, he served as an analyst in force protection security and counterterrorism intelligence, and as a senior civilian in the Pentagon responsible for integrating Air Force antiterrorism and law enforcement/security efforts.

A native Texan, Dickey served over 31 years in the United States Air Force. He was awarded the Bronze Star and eight Meritorious Service Medals, as well as a Civilian Achievement Medal for his work on the Fort Hood Shooting Task Forces, and is a USAF Master Instructor and Certified Protection Professional.

Dickey holds a Master of Science degree in International Relations from Troy State University, and a Master of Strategic Studies Degree from the Air War College. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Education from Southwest Texas State University and Associate Degrees in Criminal Justice and Instructor in Technology from the Community College of the Air Force.
