The Honorable Judge Sarah E. Garrahan was elected to Bexar County Court-at-Law #4 in November of 1986, the first Republican woman ever to be elected to a Bexar County Court. Judge Garrahan received her Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree in 1981 from St. Mary's School of Law.
Prior to being elected to the County Court-at-Law, Judge Garrahan was a "rookie" prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice at the U.S. Attorney's Office in San Antonio where she was assigned to work on the renowned Judge John H. Wood assassination case. She later became a sole practitioner doing Criminal Defense.
