Local Home Builder Indicted for Theft from Elderly Client
San Antonio, Texas: August 20, 2009:
Once again, District Attorney Susan D. Reed has obtained an indictment against another Defendant in an Elder Fraud case. James “Greg” Mikesell, age 35, was indicted by the Grand Jury for Theft $100,000-$200,000 from an elderly client.
The State alleges Mikesell, the President of Definitive Custom Homes, entered into a contract to build a home for an 85-year-old World War II Veteran. While the home was under construction Mikesell received the final draw of $104,000 and failed to complete the house. It is alleged that after receiving this money Mikesell diverted the money for other uses. The client was forced to locate another builder to complete the job and correct the mistakes made by Definitive Custom Homes at an additional cost.
Theft $100,000-$200,000 from the Elderly is a first-degree felony offense, which carries a punishment range of five to ninety-nine years or life in prison and a fine up to $10,000. A trial date has not yet been set.
