IN ONE DAY TWO BEXAR COUNTY CASES SEND A MESSAGE TO
THOSE WHO COMMIT CRIMES AGAINST THE ELDERLY

San Antonio , Texas ; August 3, 2006: Today Bexar County District Attorney Susan D. Reed announced that Emillio Montgomery, age 37, received a sentenced of 50 years from the jury after they convicted him yesterday of Aggravated Robbery and Burglary of a Habitation in the 144 th District Court.

On November 8, 2004, Pearl Pimentel, age 75, was home, when Montgomery entered through an upstairs window, held a knife to her throat, and demanded money. After taking money from her purse, Montgomery fled through the front door and threatened to kill Mrs. Pimentel if she called the police. When police officers arrived they found the defendant and another man near the crime scene. During the crime scene investigation a fingerprint comparison showed that a latent print was that of the defendant Montgomery. Mrs. Pimentel had been living in the same home since 1965.

During the punishment phase of the trial, evidence showed that the Defendant has a past criminal history, including assaults, forgery, auto theft and drug cases.
