MARK HERNANDEZ INDICTED ON FIVE AGGRAVATED ROBBERY CASES

San Antonio, Texas:
Bexar County Criminal District Attorney Susan D. Reed announced that today
Mark Hernandez, dob July 19, 1976, was indicted for five different
aggravated robberies, following an investigation by Detectives with the San
Antonio Police Department. The robberies occurred between December 20,
2002 and January 14, 2003, and took place at South and Eastside convenience
stores and a South side restaurant. He used a knife, a screwdriver,
and a box cutter during the commission of the offenses. The
indictments allege that prior to the commission of these offenses, Hernandez
had been convicted of felony theft, making him a repeat offender with the
punishment range increased to a minimum of fifteen years in prison, up-to
life. The bond was set at $150,000.00 on each of these cases, for a
total of $750,000.00.
Hernandez has been in custody
on $55,000 worth of bonds since January for another South side aggravated
robbery, for being a felon on possession of a firearm and for unauthorized
use of a motor vehicle. These three cases have been previously
indicted. All of the cases are set in the 290th District Court.
