Assistant Chief Wendell R. Tomlin

Assistant Chief Wendell Tomlin is a licensed Master Peace Officer with over 22 years of experience in Bexar County. His career has included service with the Bexar County Sheriffs Office, Support Division, working in communications, Patrol, DWI Task Force, and Warrants. He was the recipient of the 1987 Support Division Officer of the year. In 1993 Officer Tomlin moved to the Precinct 3 Constables office where he served with distinction as the Warrants Sergeant. In 2003 Then Sergeant, Tomlin transferred to the Precinct 2 Constables office where he reorganized the warrant section. For his efforts Asst. Chief Tomlin was awarded the 2004 Officer of the year and has also received the Meritorious Service Citation for 2005. Assistant Chief Tomlin is a retired U. S. Air Force Veteran with 26 years of service including service in Korea and Vietnam.
Asst. Chief Tomlin is an approved instructor and certified Operation Lifesaver Presenter. These presentations may be presented at schools, Kindegarten through High School, and to general audiences. These presentations are appropriate for teens, mature drivers, defensive driving schools, professional driving schools, CDL classes, and other professional and large vehicle drivers. Law Enforcement officers and other emergency response personnel may be provided G.C.C.I. (Grade Crossing Investigation Classes).
