Writs Service and Investigations

Writs Service and Investigations is a seperate section of the Civil Operations Division.  The deputies assigned to this section focus their activities on the Writ of Possession (Evictions), Writ of Sequestration, and the Writ of Execution.

 

The Writ of Possession

Please follow the guidelines below:

1. Have a sufficient number of people to move everything out of the unit in approximately one(1) hour. (Additional fees may be charged after that.)
2. Be prepared to move everything out.
3. It is not necessary to pack each item.
4. It is advisable to have sufficient Plastic Bags and Boxes to make it easy to remove all the items to the nearby location.
5. The Tenant's property should not be damaged.
6. Vehicles must also be moved. It will be necessary to contact a wrecker service. The veichles may not be moved into the street.
7. Please advise the Constables Office as soon as possible, of any special condition that may be a problem.
8. Should you choose to use a moving and storage company, it must be bonded and insured.
The Writ of Possession may not be enforced when it is raining, sleeting, or snowing.
