What is Citizen Corps?

We all have a role in hometown security. Citizen Corps increases opportunities for citizens to serve their community through volunteerism. The Councils are coordinated at a local level to effectively manage community volunteer resources in preparing for, preventing, and responding to the threats of crime, terrorism, and disasters of all kinds.

Citizen Corps asks you to embrace the personal responsibility to be prepared; to get training in first aid and emergency skills; and to volunteer to support local emergency responders, disaster relief, and community safety.

Who are we?

The Alamo Regional Citizen Corps Council is made up of a twelve county area and its members represent all sectors of the community, including elected officials, emergency management and first responders groups, volunteers in community service, faith and community-based organizations, academic institutions, medical facilities, and others.

This program is administered through the Bexar County Office of Emergency Management / Fire Marshal’s Office, located in San Antonio , Texas .

What can you do to help?

Get involved now and make a difference. Preparing makes sense. It starts with you.
