  2. Alamo Colleges Career Skills Program Classes: Machinist

    January 8, 2018, 12:00 PM - February 22, 2018, 4:00 PM

    The competency based 180 hours training includes a blend of lectures, online training, and hands-on skills labs for machinists. Upon successful completion, students will receive: National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certificates in Measurement & Safety Awareness, Job Planning, Benchwork and Layout, Drill Press and Milling.   4. Character Does Matter Ambassador Training

    TMF’s Character Does Matter Program, presented by Johnson & Johnson, engages veterans and survivors to inspire young adults to live with character, develops their leadership skills, and activates them to serve their communities in honor of fallen heroes. During this training, we will cover the ins and outs of the TMF organization – our mission, vision, and values. We will also discuss what character means and how you can bring it to life in your community. Additionally, you'll receive tools and training to help you engage with youth, and build and foster character in them. By the end, you will have everything you need to build presentations and run activities on your own.

  1. Customizing QuickBooks

    February 21, 2018, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

    In this advanced QuickBooks workshop, Certified Public Accountant and small business owner Richard Garcia will lead participants through advanced QuickBooks concepts and teach them how to customize QuickBooks to meet their needs. Topics covered in this workshop include: analyzing financial data, doing payroll with QuickBooks, estimating and progress invoicing, tracking time, customizing form and writing letters. Additionally, the instructor, SBDC QuickBooks Pro Advisors and UTSA senior level accounting students will spend individual time with participants helping set up and modify their companies on QuickBooks. Prerequisites: Participants must be computer literate. Some knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting application is preferred. The desktop version of QuickBooks is used for this series. This class is not recommended for online QuickBooks users, as it is very different than the desktop version. Drinks with a secure lid are permitted.
