  1. VIA Hands on Training: Payment Verification

    September 19, 2017, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

    Join VIA Metropolitan Transit and the Maestro Entrepreneur Center for an opportunity to learn and have hands on one-on-one training on navigating monthly online payment verification. VIA will require self-payment verification for primes and subcontractors in the upcoming months on all new contracts. Receive personalized training, learn to maneuver through the VIA Portal, and discover the importance of verifying payments as a small business. Classes will be limited to 5 companies with a maximum of 3 people per company. No walk-ins will be able to participate. Mock payments will be created for those that RSVP in advance in order to offer hands on experience to all that participate. We highly encourage attendees to bring their own laptop and/or tablet for the classes. We will have a limited amount of tablets on hand.     Description: According to the federal website a GSA Schedule Contract, also referred to as the Federal Supply Schedule or GSA Contract, is a Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Contract administered by the General Services Administration (GSA). The GSA Schedule Contract is the most widely used government contract vehicle. How widely used? In fiscal year 2012 federal, state, and local government spent over $37 billion through GSA Contracts. - GSA Contracts help companies sell to government buyers. - They contain pre-negotiated pricing, terms, and conditions which streamline the government sales process. At this workshop you will learn if GSA is right for you by understanding some of the basics of a GSA Schedule. You will get familiar with the unique features of a GSA Schedule, learn what every business should know and understand some of the basic qualifications to obtaining a GSA Schedule. You will also review the GSA toolbox and get some helpful hints to accessing your readiness.
