    Join Bexar County Commissioner Tommy Calvert, Pct. 4, AGC Members, current and former Mentors and Protégés and staff as we recognize firms that have completed the 2015 Bexar County / AGC San Antonio Chapter Basics of Construction Class. For the 10th time since 2005, the ten-session educational program was held to benefit small, minority, and women-owned construction businesses in Bexar County. Over 160 individuals have taken the Basics Class. Following the ceremony, we will launch the recruitment of firms to be matched for the Mentor/Protégé Program. Protégé firms are required to have previously completed the Basics Class. The Mentor/Protégé Program relationship is a two year commitment where the Protégé, Mentors, AGC staff, and the County Mentor Protégé Program Manager work together to help develop the Protégé firm's marketing, operations and financial performance strategy. Misclassified employees are often denied access to critical benefits and protections – such as family and medical leave, overtime, minimum wage and unemployment insurance – to which they are entitled.
