Another part of the application process is the testing of physical agility. Detention duties are oftentimes demanding and being in good physical shape is important for your safety and the safety of others.
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office tests applicants on their ability to perform and complete the following: 1.5 mile run, Push ups, and Sit ups.
Note: Participation in the 1.5 mile run meets the minimum acceptable standards for men, women and/or age factors to continue with testing.
