Our Mission
The mission of the Bexar County Fire Marshal and Emergency Management Division is to preserve County resources by providing efficient, cost effective services for the protection of life and property, which ensure the safety, health, and welfare of our customers and improve the quality of life. This mission is accomplished by the five major sections of the office: Operations, Fire Prevention, Fire Code Enforcement, Fire Investigation, and Emergency Management.

The BCFMO acts in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism, efficiency, integrity and accountability in order to support the mission and goals of Bexar County. We affirm that the responsibility for providing safety from fire and related hazards must be a cooperative effort, and we approach our activities in a genuine partnership with fire service, local governments, other Bexar County departments, regulated fire service industries and the public which we serve. APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT #2 BOARD
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be registered to vote in Bexar County and reside in or own
property within the boundaries of ESD #2
Selection:
Bexar County Commissioner for Precinct 1 shall consider relevant facts in determining the individuals to appoint as board members, including whether the individuals have knowledge that relates to fire prevention or emergency medical services and that is relevant to the common policies and practices of the Board.

Fire-Safe Cigarettes become law in Texas!
Fire-safe cigarette legislation has been passed or introduced in many states. To maintain regulatory uniformity, all states and countries are using the "model" Fire- Safe Cigarette (FSC) regulatory bill based on the New York FSC law. With identical fire safety regulations for cigarettes in all states and countries, cigarette manufacturers can voluntarily produce FSC worldwide.
