JUDGE KEITH BAKER

Judge Keith BakerJudge Keith Baker was first elected as Justice of the Peace for Bexar County, Precinct 3 in 1982, and has served as judge continuously since that time.  He graduated from the University of Texas, and the School of Law of the University of Texas.  Judge Baker is an attorney and was licensed to practice law in Texas in 1969.  After law school, he served  as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps, and was the Adjutant of the 27th Surgical Hospital in Vietnam.  Judge Baker returned to San Antonio in 1973 to practice law. 

Judge Baker was appointed by the Texas Supreme Court, to the Commission on Judicial Conduct in 1998.  The Commission meets regularly in Austin, and supervises the conduct of all judges of the State of Texas.  The Texas Supreme Court also appointed Judge Baker to the Task Force on Justice Court Rules of Civil Procedure, which makes recommendations to the Texas Supreme Court on modernizing the rules of civil procedure for Justice Courts.Judge Baker is the author of many bills on truancy, school safety, and justice court procedures, which were passed by the Legislature and are now law.  Judge Baker also lead the effort to modernize Bexar County Justice of the Peace Courts with computerized dockets and operations.
