Intro to SBIR/STTR Funding & The Application Process

Friday, December 8, 2017

You may have seen television or magazine advertisements with pitchmen talking about “free money from the government.” This is not what you think it is. This is a way for you to provide benefit for society and build your business assets at the same time. It’s about getting resources for your business without borrowing or selling off part of your business; it takes hard work, but it has led to success for many technology-based businesses. This session will introduce you to tools and techniques for funding the development and prototyping of your ideas while helping the Federal government fulfill its mission at the same time: Understanding SBIR/STTR programs and funding agencies, Understanding the difference between a granting agency and a contracting agency, Knowing the critical elements of a proposal, Understanding the evaluation processes and how you can improve your chances of being awarded, Understanding the requirements you will face if you are successful in receiving an award.
