The Mission of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office is to:

• The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is entrusted with the maintenance of law and order and the preservation of the peace in the community. The responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Office include providing law enforcement services, bail bond services, civil process, operating the Adult Detention Center, and the security of the judicial courts.
  These law enforcement, judicial and correctional functions are historically the reason the office exists. The professional employees of the Sheriff’s Office are committed to providing these services without bias or prejudice.These services are provided to the citizens in a dignified manner with honesty and integrity. Law Enforcement Services are carried out fairly and firmly and the inmates in the county jail are treated humanely and with respect.
  The Sheriff's Office is transparent with full disclosure to the public relating to its decisions, policies and functions. To this end, the Sheriff’s Office will continue providing these services in a professional manner and in full partnerships with the community.
