Aurora M. Sanchez is a native of San Antonio. She received her degree in Social Work from St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. Ms. Sanchez is the Executive Director of the Bexar County Department of Community Resources, a major county department.
Over the past 26 years, Ms. Sanchez has held upper management positions with governmental and non-profit organizations such as the Alamo Area Council of Governments, and Alamo Workforce Development, and Bexar County. Her areas of expertise are diverse and include Human Services, State and Federal Grants, Homeland Security, 911 communications, Mental Health, Problem Solving Courts, Veterans Services, Workforce Development, Tax Abatement, Tax Increment Zones, Re-Entry Services and the Ryan White HIV/AIDS program.
Ms. Sanchez has been honored by Bexar County Detention Ministries, the Bexar County Consumer and Family Support conference, and numerous other agencies for her tireless work in establishing programs for the mentally ill and the formerly incarcerated.
